FyPDF· Document workshop

A PDF tool that doesn't ship your files
to a stranger's server.

FyPDF runs 22 of its 28 tools entirely in your browser — merge, split, compress, convert, edit, redact, sign, OCR, and more. Heavy work that genuinely needs the cloud (OCR, signed PDF/A, repair) drops into a temporary, encrypted server session and tears it down when it's done.

Built for legal, finance, HR, support, and engineering teams that pass PDFs through real workflows every day — not occasional one-off conversions.

What's actually shipped

Four jobs the suite already does — properly.

Most online PDF tools do one operation well and three badly. FyPDF's capability surface is built around four jobs that real teams chain every day, and each one is implemented to leave the document better than it found it.

Convert

Move documents between formats without losing the text underneath

Conversion is the most-used feature in any PDF suite. Most browser PDF tools quietly re-rasterise the page and call it 'converted'. FyPDF preserves the actual text layer wherever possible so the next person can search, copy, and edit the result.

  • PDF ↔ JPG, PNG, WebP at 1×–4× output resolution.
  • PDF → Word and PDF → Excel keep paragraphs, tables, and structure instead of one giant image per page.
  • Office files (Word, Excel, HTML) become PDFs with embedded fonts, not screenshots of pages.

Organize

Reorder, split, and stitch documents without printing & re-scanning

Most ‘organize’ flows online force you to re-upload between every action. The FyPDF organize surface keeps the same source open — extract a page, rotate it, drop it back in, and merge everything in one place.

  • Drag-to-reorder thumbnails for merge with full inter-document control.
  • Page-range syntax for split, delete, and extract — same grammar across every tool.
  • Per-page rotation that respects existing orientations instead of overwriting them.

Edit

Edit on top of the real PDF, not on a flat image of it

Watermarks, page numbers, crop marks, and inline text edits are written into the document’s actual content stream. The output is still a real PDF — selectable, searchable, and indexable — not a printed photo of one.

  • Add watermarks, stamps, and page numbers with precise typographic control.
  • Crop margins on every page (or just specific ranges) without flattening the type.
  • Edit text and fields directly without leaving the workspace.

Redaction and signatures that survive being copy-pasted

A ‘black rectangle drawn on top’ is not a redaction — it leaves the original text underneath the box. FyPDF removes the content from the document object itself before re-serialising the file, and signatures are cryptographically attached, not pasted on as an image.

  • Permanent redaction — selected content is stripped from the file, not hidden behind a fill.
  • Password protect with separate user and owner passwords plus permission flags.
  • Cryptographic e-signing for binding documents (server-side).

How a document moves through it

One document, three stages, no re-uploads in between.

Drop a PDF once, then chain whatever comes next on the same source. Every tool reads from the workspace's current document and writes back into it — there's no "export → re-upload" cycle between operations.

Issue 07
  • very browser-first tool — merge, split, rotate, compress, watermark, page numbers, image conversions, crop, and the rest — is free with no file-size cap, page cap, or daily limit. The only paid tier on the roadmap is for advanced server features (OCR at scale, signing pipelines, recurring batch automation), and even those are usable on the free plan with reasonable per-day limits.
